Quote of the moment: Albert Einstein - "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

Trip!

I have sent out notes to all those who have expressed interest. If you haven't got a note, please contact me!

Itinerary:
Travel:
Saturday 24th: 11:15am: train from Central to Katoomba
Sunday 25th: 3:25pm: train from Katoomba to Central (~5pm arrival at Central)
Cost: ~$12.20 for each single ticket in each direction (More info: [link])

Accomodation:
Saturday night: Katoomba YHA. Booking at least one mixed room (with more people expanding either sharing with other or a second room if we get enough of us) (More info: [link])

Food:
Sunday morning: after the sunrisers have taken their shots, everyone will join in having a cooked breakfast at the YHA! There will be a kitty collected so we can buy the breakfast ingrediants on the Sat.
Other meals: yet to be decided. Cheap option is to BYO lunches, get a few people to chip in for dinner to cook at the YHA. Or you can buy things.

Items:
Cold weather is cold, so bring cold climate items you can layer.
Wet weather is wet, so bring a raincoat.
Water bottle is handy.
Fun!

Activity:
Sunday: Get an all day Leura Trolley Bus ([link] - $15/day) ticket and go exploring.

Confirmed so far: osirisunnefer, AaronBradford, Gimmyfood, AB-Photography

Bugger! Will be out of town that weekend. As I will the one before (next) and the one after. And then it's packing to head off for a month...

I do hope you get good buy-in to this one, Ian. It certainly looks like a great concept and people should flock to it...

Hope you can make it!

And yes, they taste delicious when placed between the bacon and egg :P Nah, i'm using the other term for kitty = collection of money that everyone puts in to (to buy the breakfast food).
I'm in :D I know the area pretty well, so I could maybe devise a little options for us o do, with different things to see.

There is a trolley bus that does loops between katoomba and leura, which only costs about $15 unlimited hop-on hop-off rides for the whole day! Getting around should be easy that way!

p.s. Ooerr :P thanks for the feature :w00t:

Good stuff! *puts another mark up on the board*

Ooh, and that trolley is a good possibility for the Sunday. Thanks for the heads up!
Interested? Excellent!

Kites? Brilliant idea! Now we need to source kids light enough to tie to the kite and take photos with our cameras for us *plots*

And hats are left to the discretion of the potential wearer, although beanies come highly recommended for sunset/rise.
